style boutique—known as style savvy in north america, girls mode in japan, girls style in south korea, and maison du style in france—is a series of fashion games for the DS and 3DS, developed by syn sophia and published by nintendo. in these games, the player runs their own select shop, buying clothing for both their boutique and themselves from the city's exhibition hall, which is home to various popular brands that each sell clothing of a different style. the series has a total of four games, releasing between 2008 and 2017.

this series has been one of my fixations for over 10 years; my first was new style boutique, though ive found interest in the later (and previous) games in time. click on each games icon to view their respective pages :)

style boutique (DS)

is a fashion simulation game for the nintendo DS, and the first game in the eponymous series. it is a fashion and life simulation game which primarily involves running your own boutique, shopping for clothes, and competing in fashion contests. the game is synced to the DS' system clock, with the seasons changing with real life.

new style boutique

new style boutique is the second entry in the series, and the first for the nintendo 3DS. like its predecessor, new style boutique's main gameplay loop is making outfits for a wide range of characters. the player can dress themselves up, and they live in their own apartment that they can decorate with items bought from the city's furniture shop. this is the first game in the series to feature men's fashion, so male customers will now come into the boutique alongside women.

new style boutique 2: fashion forward is the third game of the series. similarly to previous games, the player works at their boutique, assisting customers by creating outfits and selling clothing. the player can join fashion contests and customise different showrooms at caprice chalet to rent out. alongside serving clients with clothing, fashion forward also introduces working at the beautician and hair salon. however, the game has one major difference to its predecessors—you're in a dollhouse?!
